Rotary Youth Camp is an overnight (sleep away) camping experience for those with special needs (ex.traumas, adhd), illnesses (ex. cystic fibrosis, Sickle cell etc), or disabilities (ex. physical, mental, psycho-social, etc.). Our camp weeks are separated by age and grade levels. Our activity offerings are typical to most camps, such as arts & crafts, swimming, outdoor recreation, adventure sports and more, whats unique are our thematic summers, each year brings a new exploration.
Our staff includes 24/7 nursing, counselors and administrative staff. We provide all meals and snacks. Your camper will experience 1:3 - 1:1 camper to counselor ratio, and 10-14: 14-17 camper to staff group ratio.
Since we only offer a few weeks in the summer months, we do not separate based on needs or disabilities. We have a unique setting where children with various needs are brought together for a shared experience where they are our top priority. Your child will not be alone, or isolated due to disability or need. Many of our staff are adults living with a special need, disability or illness, and offer that role model and visual identity to seeing themselves as an adult.
Our office is located in Tallahassee, and camp this year will be held at Woodmen of the World campgrounds in Hosford Fl.
The cost to attend is free. There may be a small registration fee, to hold places. For complete details of the session for your child please see the website.
