The Sharing Tree is a reusable resource center for donated new and gently used classroom materials that are available to public school teachers in Leon County, as well as artists, and the broader learning community. Manufacturers, businesses, government agencies and individuals routinely dispose of tons of perfectly usable items – not just paper, pencils and pens, but also calculators, beakers, and arts and crafts supplies — that could be used in our classrooms to enhance student achievement.
Deeply ingrained in The Sharing Tree’s mission is education, the education and inspiration of creative reuse.
Creative reuse also known as upcycle, repurpose, and green craft. The Sharing Tree prides itself in having a recycled artist and art educator as the director, being on the forefront of many new creative reuse ideas.
The Sharing Tree offers educational workshops year round for adults and students of all ages at an extremely affordable rate.
