Who We Are

At BuddyKnit, we are determined to uplift and support students of all backgrounds through relatable peer connection. We’re helping to develop equal access to traditional forms of academic support in the most critical years of a student’s life.

Peers provide the support in need rather than an adult, alleviating concerns of the mentor being intimidating to the student while creating an air of relatability, especially for ones that have experienced the trauma of child abuse and separation from loved ones.

Our kiddo had his first meeting with his Buddy Knit mentor last night. It was a virtual gaming session. They were so patient with our fairly new "gamer" and so kind! He taught our kiddo some cool tricks on their game and our kiddo was so sad when it was time for dinner. He can't wait to play again!
