Read to Therapy Dogs at Jefferson County Public Library

Certified therapy dogs will be visiting the library one Saturday each month to support children's efforts to improve their reading! Each child is given 15 minutes to read to a gentle dog. Reading with dogs is soothing and judgement-free and may provide that extra encouragement your emergent reader needs to be successful. Space is limited! Call the library to sign up for a time to read with the dog, and please arrive 10 minutes early.
