 um has achieved accreditation by the American Alliance of Museums, the high
 est national recognition afforded the nation’s museums. Accreditation signi
 fies excellence to the museum community, to governments, funders, outside a
 gencies, and the museum-going public. The Tallahassee Museum was initially 
 accredited in 1985 and to maintain accredited status, the Museum undergoes 
 reaccreditation review every 10 years. Of the nation’s estimated 35,000 mus
 eums, over 1,080 are currently accredited. The Tallahassee Museum is one of
  only 57 museums accredited in Florida. Alliance Accreditation brings natio
 nal recognition to a museum for its commitment to excellence, accountabilit
 y, high professional standards, quality assurance, and continued institutio
 nal improvement.<br /><br />This award would not have been possible without
  the support from our loyal members, donors, special staff, volunteers and 
 the general public in our region. To honor and thank our support base, the 
 Museum has planned several celebratory events and discounted opportunities 
 in August and September.<br /><br />Join us on September 30, 2023 for a FRE
 E admission day. Admission includes 12:00pm Otter Encounter at the Otter Ex
 hibit and 11:30am, 1:30pm, and 3:30pm Education Animal Encounters at the Sn
