  talented Tom Greene will be calling the dances to live tunes by The Greasy
  String Band. <br /><br />Tallahassee community contra dances are in full s
 wing the 2nd and 4th Fridays of most months! Contra dancing is an upbeat, b
 eginner-friendly American social dance for all ages. It shares many moves w
 ith square dancing (such as swing your partner and do-si-do) and is danced 
 in long lines to live music. Bands and instructors (“callers”) vary each ni
 ght. No dance experience is needed and you don’t need to bring a partner. A
 rrive in time for the Beginner Lesson at 7:15, and by the end of the night,
  you’ll have danced with everyone in the room! There’s a short break mid-wa
 y through the night for sharing snacks and socializing. Wear comfortable cl
 othes and flat shoes.
