 me of our more interesting local plants. Plants you’re already familiar wit
 h might even have some surprises for you. From traditional uses of common w
 eeds to some favorite native trees and the stories they can tell us about t
 he landscape, Birdsong member Dylan Ryals-Hamilton will share fun facts on 
 topics ranging from ecology to ethnobotany. We will probably walk 1.5 to 2 
 miles and discuss a dozen or so plants. Expect to make a few new plant frie
 nds and take away some fun nature facts to impress your human friends.<br /
 ><br />Dylan Ryals-Hamilton is an Environmental Biologist with Florida Envi
 ronmental & Land Services, Inc. (FELSI) where he conducts environmental sur
 veys, wetland delineation, ecological monitoring and restoration projects. 
 His professional background also includes ecological landscaping, permacult
 ure and sustainable land management. An Associate Instructor with the Flori
 da Master Naturalist Program, Dylan also volunteers with land management wo
 rkdays and with the burn crew at Birdsong when he’s lucky enough to join in
