 >Tallahassee community contra dances are in full swing the 2nd and 4th Frid
 ays of most months! Contra dancing is a wholesome, upbeat, beginner-friendl
 y American social dance for all ages. It shares many moves with square danc
 ing (such as swing your partner and do-si-do) and is danced in long lines t
 o live music. Bands and instructors (“callers”) vary each night. No dance e
 xperience is needed and you don’t need to bring a partner. Arrive in time f
 or the Beginner Lesson at 7:15, and by the end of the night, you’ll have da
 nced with everyone in the room! There’s a short break mid-way through the n
 ight for sharing snacks and socializing. Wear comfortable clothes and flat 
 shoes.
