SUMMARY:Fall Bird Walk with Birdsong Nature Center
LOCATION:2155 Meridian Rd, Thomasville, GA 31792
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Join us for an early fall morning bird walk at Birdsong Nature Center with
volunteer leaders Charlie and Cindy Baisden. We will visit a variety of hab
itats, such as the old field/pond edge by the Farm Pond, and
mixed pi
ne and hardwood forest along the north side of Big Bay Swamp. Our goal wil
l be to spot migrating species heading south and returning winter residents
 such as Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, Ruby-crowned
Kinglets, and vario
us wood warblers, vireos, and sparrows. At the conclusion of the walk, we w
ill want to visit the Bird Window, offering an opportunity to observe up cl
ose some of the species we observed during
the walk. The program sho
uld run about 2 hours, and we will probably walk about 1.5 to 2.0 miles. I
f you are interested in learning about fall migrants that are common to Sou
th Georgia and North Florida, please join us on September 26th.
Dres
s for the weather, bring sun protection, and prepare for a walk through the
woods and fields of Birdsong. You may want to bring water, binoculars, fi
eld guides, and insect repellant with you.
X-EXTRAINFO:RESERVATIONS, PLEASE. Call by noon on Friday, September 25th to reserve yo
ur space.
