Lemonade Day is a national youth entrepreneurship training program that teaches K-12 youth how to start their own business using the classic lemonade stand example! Tallahassee is the FIRST city in Florida to participate since the program's inception in 2007. Tallahassee Lemonade Day is always the second Saturday in June. Lemonade Day takes place wherever you choose to set up your stand... it can be your own driveway!
So...how does it work? Kids get registered by mom and dad, through their church group, or even summer camp and the #TallyLemonade crew comes in to train them. Each registered youth will receive a workbook, a backpack and a mentor guide to take home- all at no cost thanks to the generosity of the School of Business and Industry at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University! The only costs the kidpreneur incurs (either as a loan or investment that must be paid back) is that to decorate their stand and purchase their ingredients. Once youth are registered and trained, every registered lemonade stand will open for business! Our volunteers will be visiting registered stands to cheer on these budding entrepreneurs and take selfies to post and share!
