Studio Class Descriptions

 Acro
Experience the thrilling fusion of dance and acrobatics in our Acro Dance class. Designed for dancers of all levels, this class combines the grace and technique of classical dance with the excitement and precision of acrobatic elements. Students will learn and refine fundamental acrobatic skills including tumbling, flexibility, strength conditioning, and proper form. Each session emphasizes safety and skill progression in a supportive environment, encouraging students to build confidence, enhance physical coordination, and explore their artistic expression through movement.

Ballet
Perfect for beginners and seasoned dancers, this class focuses on developing grace, strength, and technique through classical ballet fundamentals. Students will refine their posture, alignment, and fluidity of movement while mastering the foundational ballet vocabulary at the barre and in center work. Each class provides a nurturing environment where dancers can grow in confidence and artistry.

Ballet/Jazz
This class will explore elements of both Ballet and Jazz. In this class, dancers will engage in the structure and etiquette of a traditional ballet class. It will provide a foundational knowledge of terminology and will focus on the foundational instruction of proper placement, all while enhancing musical awareness. Dancers will also explore numerous elements of Jazz, including strength, flexibility, conditioning, and other progressions, including leaps, kicks, turns, and typically upbeat, energetic music and movement.

Ballet/Lyrical
In this class, dancers will engage in the structure and etiquette of a traditional ballet class. It will provide a foundational knowledge of terminology and focus on the foundational instruction of proper placement while enhancing musical awareness. Students will also engage in lyrical dance, which combines techniques and skills from ballet, jazz, and modern. Students will explore how lyrical dance emphasizes the interpretation of music lyrics to tell a story with movement that can be fluid or abstract.

Ballet/Tap
This class will explore elements of both Ballet and Tap. It will either cover both styles in one class period or alternate weekly. The class will provide a foundational knowledge of terminology and focus on the foundational instruction of proper placement while enhancing musical awareness and having fun!

Boys Hip Hop
This all-boys Hip Hop class will allow students to explore an energetic, fun, and popular art form. It will explore the latest trends and foundational elements of hip hop culture. Students will learn hip hop techniques including popping, locking, and breaking, as well as grooves and freestyle improvisation. Through fun and engaging choreography, dancers will develop their musicality, rhythm, and personal style. Emphasis is placed on building confidence, mastering intricate footwork, and exploring the creative aspects.

Contemporary
Explore the expressive world of Contemporary. This class blends fluidity, athleticism, and creativity to explore a range of movement styles and techniques. Students will engage in choreographic exploration, focusing on organic movement, musicality, and emotional expression. Through guided improvisation and structured exercises, dancers will cultivate their own unique movement vocabulary while honing their technical skills and enhancing physical awareness.

Dance Team Prep
Tailored for dancers aspiring to join or elevate their skills in their high school or college dance teams, this class focuses on precision, teamwork, and performance readiness. Students will work on mastering choreography in various styles such as jazz, hip-hop, and pom. Emphasis will be placed on synchronization, sharp execution, and stage presence. Dancers will refine their flexibility, stamina, and technique through targeted drills and conditioning exercises.

Flexibility
This class will focus on movement patterns, concentrating on improvements in execution and mobility that will help develop a wide range of movement in a joint or series of joints that is attainable within certain exercises. *Dancers will need 2 medium-strength therabands for this class.

Fusion (Lyrical, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip Hop)
This class will do a fusion or alternate genres weekly in the styles of Lyrical, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip Hop. Dancers will explore how lyrical dance emphasizes the interpretation of music lyrics to tell a story with movement that can be fluid or abstract. Dancers will also explore numerous elements of Jazz, including strength, flexibility, conditioning, and other progressions, including leaps, kicks, turns, and typically upbeat, energetic music and movement. Contemporary will incorporate many of the foundations of modern dance technique, including suspension and release, fall and recovery, the use of momentum and connecting breath with movement. Additionally, Hip Hop allows students to explore an energetic, fun, and popular art form. These classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements.

Hip Hop
This class explores the latest trends and foundational elements of hip hop culture. Students will learn hip hop techniques including popping, locking, and breaking, as well as grooves and freestyle improvisation. Through fun and engaging choreography, dancers will develop their musicality, rhythm, and personal style. Emphasis is placed on building confidence, mastering intricate footwork, and exploring the creative aspects.

Jazz
Immerse yourself in the energetic and dynamic world of Jazz. This class explores the fusion of rhythm, style, and expression. Students will learn a diverse range of jazz techniques, including isolations, syncopated rhythms, and stylized movements. Through upbeat combinations and choreography, dancers will develop their musicality, agility, and performance skills. With a focus on versatility and individual expression, every class offers a supportive environment where dancers can refine their technique, build confidence, and embrace the joy of movement.

Lyrical
Lyrical dance combines techniques and skills from ballet, jazz, and modern. Dancers will explore how lyrical dance emphasizes the interpretation of music lyrics to tell a story with movement that can be fluid or abstract.

Pre-Pointe
Prepare for the grace and precision of pointe work in our Pre-Pointe class. Designed for ballet dancers transitioning to pointe shoes, this class focuses on building the necessary strength, technique, and alignment required for safe and successful pointe work. Students will engage in exercises to strengthen the feet, ankles, and core muscles essential for supporting the body en pointe. Focus is placed on proper alignment, balance, and understanding the mechanics of pointe shoes. With guidance from experienced instructors, dancers will progress through a structured curriculum to prepare them for the beauty and challenges of dancing on pointe. *You must complete at least 21 hours of Pre-Pointe to be evaluated for Beginner Pointe class.

Beginner Pointe
This class is for ballet dancers who have recently started pointe work and focuses on mastering the foundational techniques and developing the strength and confidence necessary for dancing in pointe shoes. Students will refine their posture, alignment, and pointe shoe readiness through exercises at the barre and in center work.

Intermediate Pointe
Designed for ballet dancers with previous experience in pointe work. This class focuses on advancing your skills with a deeper exploration of classical ballet repertoire and complex pointe combinations. Students will enhance their strength, flexibility, and musicality through rigorous barre exercises and center work emphasizing intricate footwork, transitions, and artful expression.

Tap
Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style, and sound. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, and producing clear tap sounds.

Technique (Leaps & Turns)
This class is for dancers looking to refine their technique. It focuses on developing precision, strength, and control in leaps and turns. Students will engage in specialized exercises and drills to enhance elevation, extension, and rotation. Emphasis is placed on proper alignment, spotting techniques, and musicality to execute seamless transitions and expressive movements. With individualized feedback and a structured curriculum, dancers will progress in mastering a variety of turns, such as pirouettes and fouettés, as well as leaps, including grand jetés and tour jetés.

VIP & Me
This class allows parents (or guardians) and their little ones to connect through movement and music. Our VIP & Me class is specially crafted to foster joyful interaction and skill development in a nurturing environment. From engaging warm-ups to creative dance activities and gentle stretches, each class is designed to enhance coordination, socialization, and the parent-child bond.
