Tallahassee Homeschool String Orchestra Summer Camp

THSO (Tallahassee Homeschool String Orchestra) offers a string camp in summer 2025 for string players (violin, viola, cello, bass). The camp will be held at Thomasville Road Baptist Church. The camp is designed for both beginner students and intermediate students. Beginner students are those with at least 1 year of playing and basic music reading ability. Intermediate level students have 4+ years' experience. We will place students in appropriate level classes based on ability.

Students should have a basic knowledge of music reading and have been studying strings in school or privately for at least one year. All students are responsible to bring their own instrument and folding stand. Enrolled students will take part in a large string orchestra experience as well as smaller chamber group assignments.

A typical day will include a brief Bible study on the topic of music and worship, chamber group practices/coachings, orchestra sectionals, full orchestra rehearsal, and a short music theory/music history class. A concert will be given on Friday at 11 am for parents and family to attend, showcasing the string orchestra and chamber groups.
