James S. Rickards High School Magnet Programs

James S. Rickards High School offers a variety of specialized magnet, academy and college-preparatory programs for high school students. These programs allow students to pursue advanced academics, career-focused coursework and hands-on learning while completing their high school education.

Current offerings include the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, AVID college readiness, the Millicent Holifield Academy of Health Sciences, Engineering Academy, Rickards Law Program, Welding, Junior ROTC and other specialized pathways.

Depending on the program, students may have opportunities to earn industry certifications, participate in internships and clinical experiences, complete advanced or college-level coursework, and prepare for careers or postsecondary education.
