Grassroots Free School

Grassroots Free School is a private, nonsectarian school in Tallahassee offering self-directed, democratic education in a supportive and nurturing environment. Students have the freedom to pursue their interests and make educational choices while participating in a school community built around individual responsibility and shared decision-making.

Academic staff are available to teach core subjects individually and in groups, while students also learn through projects, creative activities, outdoor experiences, collaboration, and independent exploration. Students and staff participate together in school governance and the development of community rules.

Grassroots accepts Step Up For Students scholarships and also offers homeschool participation and extended before- and after-school care.
