Distinguished Young Women of Florida Scholarships

Distinguished Young Women of Florida is part of a nationwide scholarship, leadership and talent program for high school young women. Participants compete for cash scholarships while developing skills in leadership, interviewing, public speaking, fitness and personal development.

Participants are evaluated in scholastics, interview, talent, self-expression and fitness. Local and at-large participants may advance to the Florida state program, and the state representative advances to the Distinguished Young Women National Finals.

Scholarship opportunities include cash awards that may be used for educational expenses as well as college-granted scholarships offered by participating colleges and universities. Nationally, Distinguished Young Women participants received more than $2.1 million in cash scholarships last year, with additional college-granted scholarship opportunities available through more than 100 institutions.

Florida is currently accepting applications for the Class of 2027 and later. Students in counties without a local program, including Leon County, may participate through the Florida At-Large program.
