Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. sponsors an annual International High School Essay Contest as part of its Achievement Week program. The contest provides college-bound high school seniors an opportunity to compete for scholarship awards while sharing their perspectives on an annually selected topic.
The contest is open to college-bound high school seniors who submit their application and essay through a local Omega Psi Phi chapter. Essays must be original and typically range from 700 to 750 words. Local chapters review submissions before advancing selected entries for further competition.
Scholarship amounts, essay topics and submission deadlines are announced annually. The most recently completed contest cycle closed October 31, 2025; information for the 2026-27 contest has not yet been posted on the national contest page.
Students should visit the official contest website for the current essay topic, application materials and instructions for locating the appropriate local chapter.
