Gretchen Everhart School is part of Leon County Schools and serves students ages 5-22 with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities and extensive support needs. Placement is determined through the IEP team process for students whose educational needs cannot be successfully met in a traditional school setting.
Instruction is individualized through each student’s IEP and includes academics through Florida Standards access points, communication, life skills, assistive technology, behavior support and transition preparation. Students also participate in art, music, physical education, community-based learning and other activities designed to increase independence and quality of life.
Gretchen Everhart serves students from Leon County and several surrounding counties and provides specialized therapy, nursing and behavioral supports as part of the school program.
