The Tallahassee Museum is the home of Bellevue Plantation, a historic 1880s pioneer farmstead, native Florida wildlife habitat, Tallahassee Tree to Tree Adventures, and much more. With music and art festivals year-round, exciting summer camps and educational series, and thrilling zip lines, the Museum strives to offer something for everyone. The Tallahassee Museum promotes the knowledge and understanding of the Big Bend’s rich cultural history and natural environment, inspiring people to enrich their lives and build a better community. We hope to see you at the Museum soon! The Museum’s living exhibits of native Florida wildlife in their natural environment, nature trails and historic buildings are renowned by visitors of all ages.
We also have a playground with baby and regular swings, picnic tables (covered and uncovered), restrooms easily accessible, wood mulch, slides and climbing area, small child climbing area (in the shade).

Canopy Crossing:
This introductory course is centrally located near the Museum’s stage area, playground, main exhibit buildings, and Trail Break Café. The course is intended for visitors at least 54” tall. Participants will enjoy nature and parts of the Museum while walking 20 feet about the ground. Also included in the course are 14-18 treetop challenges and 2 zip lines. This course takes 45 minutes to complete, but can require up t0 90 minutes depending upon a participant’s skill level, time of day, and course traffic.
Soaring Cypress:
The Soaring Cypress course is intended for visitors taller than 54″ and begins with the Canopy Crossing course, which features multiple high stakes challenges and large zip lines rising to heights of up to 60 feet from the ground. Soar across more than 700 feet of untamed cypress wetlands and zip by local wildlife such as eagles, deer, and our iconic dinosaur sculptures. This course takes 2 hours to complete and can take up to 3 hours depending on your skill set, time of day, and how busy the course may be.
Treemendous Adventures:
Fun for the young, this course is near the Museum’s Big Bend Farm, Playground and Trail Break Café and includes tree to tree challenges such as different bridges, tightropes, and a zip line. Participants can enjoy the course two consecutive times. This course is for children 39” to 60” tall and takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
