by Joelle Dietrick
The Council on Culture & Arts (COCA) facilitated this project and worked in partenership with the City of Tallahassee and the artist. The project was funded through an NEA grant.
Joelle Dietrick, a noted artist and FSU art professor, initiated this project which was created in collaboration with students at PACE Center for Girls with assitance from FSU Fine Art students. The mural relates to housing and the imagery has been generated through a series of computer art workshops with the students at PACE. Recognizing that home insecurity can be a challenge for PACE students, the subject of the mural focuses on our country’s shifting assumptions about housing in America.
