Leon County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) offers public education programs designed to teach children, families, and community members important health and safety skills.
**Teddy Bear-a-medic:** Leon County EMS's friendly mascot visits schools, community trainings, and events to teach children about calling 9-1-1, bicycle helmet safety, safely crossing streets, and other important safety topics.
**Community CPR and AED Classes:** Leon County EMS offers free CPR and AED training for workplaces, community organizations, and neighborhood groups. Participants learn lifesaving skills that can help them respond to a cardiac emergency while awaiting professional medical assistance. These are educational classes and do not provide CPR/AED certification.
**Stop the Bleed Training:** Community members can learn techniques to help control serious bleeding and provide immediate assistance until emergency responders arrive.
Programs are available by request. Contact Leon County EMS at (850) 606-2100 for scheduling and availability.
