I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with Tallahassee Counseling and Consulting specializing in children, ages 3-12 who have a history of trauma and abuse, are struggling with current life stressors, behavioral concerns, ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have a passion for strengthening child-parent relationships and focus on children’s strengths during treatment to help them learn more adaptive ways to get their needs met, all while coming from a trauma-informed approach. I value the therapeutic relationship and strive to create an environment where children feel safe, secure, and understood in order to express themselves and ultimately, lead to healing. I believe in the powers of Play Therapy and am currently in the credentialing process to become a Registered Play Therapist. Play therapy is a way of meeting the child at their developmental level and finding ways to help the child in the child’s natural “language”, which is play. With children’s brains still developing, they often can’t fully process their experience using words, which is why I use play! I also specialize in Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) which aids in strengthening the parent-child relationship, so true connection and healing can occur.
