Get Goating! is a youth agriculture program built around 4-H values, hands-on learning, and responsible livestock care.
Members work with project goats while learning the practical skills needed for successful 4-H and fair participation, including care, health checks, handling, showmanship, and record-keeping. Lessons are grounded in science-based agriculture education and taught in a supportive, age-appropriate environment that emphasizes responsibility, observation, and ethical animal stewardship.
Get Goating! Youth Dairy Goat Club meets once a month on select Sundays at 3:00 PM at Goat House Farm in Tallahassee. Youth meetings begin at 3:00 PM and hands-on clinics begin at 4:00 PM. Participants are welcome to come a little early or stay a little later to spend extra time working with their goat.
For 2026, our scheduled meeting dates are:
-March 16
-April 27
-May 18
-June 29
-July 20

In addition to our regular monthly meetings, we host other club events throughout the year. These may include workshops, mock shows, clinics, service projects, and special topic days.
Participants do not need to own a goat. We provide goats for youth who do not have one, so beginners are absolutely welcome.
What youth should bring:
-Closed-toe shoes or boots, farm-safe footwear is required
-Clothes they do not mind getting dirty
-A refillable water bottle
-A notebook or binder for record keeping and worksheets
-A positive attitude and willingness to learn
