FLHSMV Driver Education Licensing Assistance Program (DELAP)

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) oversees the Driver Education Licensing Assistance Program (DELAP), which allows approved high school driver education programs to provide driver education and certain Class E driver license examination services to students.

Participating DELAP programs may administer the Class E knowledge exam and/or driving skills test as part of a high school driver education course. Successful completion of an approved DELAP course can also satisfy Florida's Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) requirement for qualifying first-time drivers under age 18.
