FSU Science on the Move brings engaging, hands-on science activities directly to K-12 classrooms throughout the Big Bend region. Florida State University educators bring the materials and equipment, set up in the classroom, and guide students through standards-aligned science investigations from start to finish.
Activities are available for elementary, middle, and high school students and cover a variety of science concepts through experiments, demonstrations, and inquiry-based learning. Programs generally require at least 45 minutes per class, with 60 minutes preferred, and materials are typically provided for up to 25 students per class.
In-person classroom visits are free for K-12 Florida schools within approximately a 90-minute drive of FSU's campus. Science on the Move also offers demo shows and programs for science clubs, science nights, festivals, and other extracurricular events. Visits are scheduled based on availability.
