L.I.G.H.T. Peer Education Program

The L.I.G.H.T. Peer Education Program through Planned Parenthood of Florida trains high school and college students to become trusted sources of accurate sexual and reproductive health information for their peers.

Peer educators learn about topics such as healthy relationships, consent, sexual health, pregnancy and STI prevention, communication, and accessing reliable health resources. Through virtual and in-person training, participants also build leadership, communication, advocacy, and public-speaking skills.

LIGHT peer educators help connect other young people with accurate information and resources while serving as positive leaders in their schools and communities. Participants may have opportunities to earn a stipend or community service hours for successfully completing program responsibilities.

The program is open to high school students ages 14-18 and college students ages 19-24 throughout Florida. Cohorts and application periods are offered periodically; visit the website for current opportunities and application information.
