Tallahassee Animal Services Volunteering

The Animal Service Center Volunteer Program is vital to their operation, and volunteers are making a big impact in many ways. Volunteers assist in the care of the dogs and cats housed in the shelter, they provide support for special events and administrative programs, they open their homes and hearts to animals needing a little extra care in a foster home, and they even assist the veterinary team with the surgery program.

Volunteers must be:
- 16 years of age or older
- able to commit to 8 hours of service per month
- able to commit to a minimum of 3 consecutive months of service
- mature, dependable and able to follow instructions
- able to demonstrate flexibility and understanding in new situations
- able to have reliable transportation
- have regular access to email and the internet
- be able to demonstrate good communication skills
