Estuaries Day

Join us for fun educational activities for kids and adults including marine animal touch tanks, estuary-themed games, a live reptile exhibit, and live aquatic animals under the microscope.
At Millender Park kids can enjoy games and demonstrations such the ever-popular cast net game, the wacky waterfront race, Be-A-Bear, and the scallop scramble. Other activities will include drone demonstrations, professional archaeologists with FPAN, and Keep Franklin County Beautiful glass grinding demo and sand art activity.
Attendees can also tour ANERR’s 5,400 square-foot Nature Center with its three large aquariums filled with local estuarine and marine life, an 80-foot-long mural depicting the area ecosystems, and a hands-on Bay Discovery Room. There is also the exhibit UNESCO Ocean Decade featuring photography work from around the world highlighting the role of the ocean in shaping life on earth.
The first 600 visitors will receive a free T-shirt (for ages three and up).
