National Public Lands Day at Maclay Gardens

  • When: Saturday, September 27, 2025,  9:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • Location: Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park, 3540 Thomasville Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32309
  • Cost: Free admission for volunteers

Celebrate this nationwide event with us by volunteering in the historic gardens! National Public Lands Day began in 1994 and remains the nation's largest single-day volunteer effort. All are welcome to join us for a morning of cleaning up the garden beds - you don't need a green thumb to pull weeds!

Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the volunteer event. Scout troops, corporate volunteers, and other groups are welcome!

Volunteers not currently registered with Florida State Parks may sign a Short-Term Volunteer Agreement for the duration of the event. Please arrive to the park to sign paperwork by 8:30 AM if you are not a registered Florida State Parks volunteer.
