Step beyond Mission San Luis and into the wider frontier of Apalachee province. While legendary archaeologists Hale Smith, Calvin Jones, and Ross Morrell pioneered the study of northwest Florida's outlying missions, the story did not end with them.
Join us on September 15th in the Jubilee Cottage at Goodwood Museum and Gardens when Dr. Rochelle Marrinan highlights recent archaeological investigations that are reshaping our understanding of the region. Discover how new excavations away from the provincial capital are reexamining older interpretations and shedding fresh light on daily life, cultural persistence, and the complex dynamics within the Spanish mission system.
