She Academy is hosting a telethon on April 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. featuring live music, entertainment and raffle prizes to celebrate its seventh anniversary and recruit teen girls. The event will be held virtually on Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.
The purpose is to encourage teens and their families to join its mentorship programs. This event will also raise awareness to potentially gain volunteers and donors who want to nurture the development of the young women in the organization.
The telethon will showcase She Academy’s impact on the teenagers in the community through testimonials from current and former members of the organization who have benefited from the mentorship.
Shaqualyn Shedrick, the founder and executive director of She Academy, said the organization is ecstatic to welcome a new group of teens.
“We are excited to serve a new cohort of teens in our upcoming summer and afterschool programs, expand community partnerships to further our impact, and welcome new volunteers to join us further our mission,” Shedrick said.
She Academy is a nonprofit organization that equips teen girls in grades sixth through 12th grade with lifelong skills that promote social, emotional and mental wellness. The organization also focuses on strengthening girls’ soft and leadership skills, while building confidence, public speaking and mental health awareness.
