Enjoy live performances, engaging panel discussions, food from local vendors, onsite shopping, and so much more—all in the beautiful setting of Cascades Park.
Whether you’re a book lover, music fan, or just looking for a fun weekend out, Word of South 2026 is the place to be.
Saturday and Sunday you can enjoy two days of free (that’s right, free!) appearances of writers and musicians from across the country. All events are in Cascades Park, which has ample free parking, access to local restaurants, food truck options, and plenty of pretty places to enjoy the outdoors.
Event Hours:
April 24: Earth, Wind, and Fire Show Begins 8:30 PM
April 25: Events run between 11 AM and 9 PM
April 26: Events run between 12:30 PM and 6 PM
Literacy and STEAM activities at WOS:
Word of South also includes an area for children and families on Saturday. Literacy Lane will have a STEAM bus you can visit, authors reading stories for kids, musicians keeping kids moving, and other activities. Plus, kids that come to Word of South leave with at least one free book!
All Word of South festival events and shows are free, with the exception of Earth, Wind, and Fire performance on Friday, April 24, 2026. You do not need a ticket to attend any Word of South event April 25-26, 2026.
