Join us Friday, June 23rd for a fun community contra dance! Our very own Vicki Morrison and rising caller Kevin Shepherd will be teaming up to call the dances to the live tunes of In Cahoots.
Tallahassee community contra dances have resumed in the Senior Center Ballroom on the 2nd and 4th Fridays most months! Contra dancing is a wholesome, upbeat, beginner-friendly American folk dance for all ages. It shares many moves with square dancing (such as swing your partner and do-si-do) and is danced in long lines to live music. The bands and callers vary each night. No dance experience is needed. Those new to contra dancing are strongly encouraged to come by 7:15 when a Beginner Lesson will be taught, and as dances are taught in more detail early in the evening. Wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes.

Admission cost: $10 for Adults, $9 Seniors over 50, $6 for Students, FREE FOR KIDS UNDER 12. Admission is payable by cash, check, or card at the door. Newcomers get in to your 2nd dance free!
COVID-19 considerations: We request that if you are experiencing any signs of illness, please do not attend. Masks are welcome and hand sanitizer and sinks with hot water are available.
