EastTown GetDown at The Hub at Feather Oaks

  • When: Friday, September 8, 2023,  5:00 pm
  • Location: The Hub at Feather Oaks, 6500 Miccosukee Road, Tallahassee, FL

Here it is!
The GRAND PLAN for the first-ever "EastTown GetDown" on Friday at The Hub is all set!
And we are ready to throw East Tallahassee's very own FSU Pre-Game Party ahead of Saturday's 2023 home opener for our No. 4-ranked Seminoles!
Like we told you at the beginning of this week, CollegeTown has a GetDown, and the Northside has their own, too. So we figured that Eastside of Tallahassee needed to get in on the fun as well!
We've set up one heck of a Friday evening for y'all that includes SO many great vendors, food trucks, live music and fun for adults and kids alike. Here's the lineup!:
FSU March Pop Ups: * ArtxNikki - One of the most talented artists to ever call Tallahassee home, Nikki will be bringing FSU-themed artwork and accessories for her HIGHLY ANTICIPATED first pop-up of the season! * @shoppeachtreetally/IG - These ladies know fashion - especially Seminole fashion. If you're looking for the perfect "fit" for Saturday's home opener against Southern Miss, you'll be able to find it between these two amazing FSU vendors! Kids Activities: * TallyTots.softplay - Our good friends at Tally Tots Soft Play have been a part of almost every major event we've had here. They know how to throw a party that kids love better than anyone else in town. And we have secured one of their best bounce houses for all our Junior Seminoles to play on! * Free Popsicles! - Hub Intern Danielle will be working the popsicle station Friday and handing out free ice cold treats for the kiddos! Live Music: * Madison Avery Music - Does one of the most POPULAR, SOUGHT-AFTER music acts really even need an introduction? Naaaah ... but we are gonna do it anyway! Madison Avery, who is typically a solo artist, is not only coming to sing and rock the house Friday on the Stage Under The Oaks, but she's bringing her own drummer that will lead us in the FSU War Chant periodically throughout the evening! We can see the huge Hub crowd now: FSU Trivia: * How well do you know the 'Noles? - Our regular trivia and bingo host Gary D. will hop on the mic anytime Madison takes a break and bust out some tough FSU trivia questions for y'all with a chance to win prizes. He will call out the answer and the first one to write it down and run it up front - and get it right - will win some sweet swag from The Hub. These questions won't be easy and you will need to be fast! Food: * Mr. V's Finest Hot Dogs - We've talked so much about how we love Mr. V and his wife Sheila during the first 8 months that we've been open, you already KNOW we are huge fans of their Sabrett hot dogs and polish sausages. And we figured you couldn't have a GetDown without Tallahassee's best hot dog cart slinging yummy chili, kraut and slaw dogs! * Siri-ously Thai - One of only two Asian food trucks in Tallahassee, Siri-ously Thai is BACK again at The Hub and will be serving up some amazing, authentic Thai dishes. And if they happen to bring back their pork belly special Friday, consider yourself #hashtagblessed! * OysterMom - One of the reasons this entire post was delayed is that we have been holding out hope ALL WEEK that the one, the only OysterMom could join us. Hurricane Idalia dumped so much rain on the Gulf Coast, the State of Florida closed the oyster farming beds down (a typical practice anytime there is excessive amounts of rain). But she got word TODAY that they will be reopened Thursday morning, and that means by Friday you will have some of the freshest raw and grilled oysters in the area to enjoy. We'll be the only GetDown in town with that! Two words: CAN'T. WAIT. * House Of Kharizma - We've featured these ladies and their fine desserts once before here at The Hub, and we are excited to welcome them back again. They make great cookies, brownies, peanut brittle, candied apples, cinnamon rolls and just about any other sweet treat you can imagine. Two more words: Yum-Yum! One last wrinkle: The FSU Food for Thought Pantry was depleted during preparations for the hurricane last week. So we will be collecting monetary donations on Friday night for those students who may be facing financial hardships or food insecurity. The Hub staff will then sweeten the pot with a monetary donation of their own from their tips that night. *takes a deep breath* If you made it this far in the post, we appreciate it! We know we channeled our inner-Hemingway with this one! Of course, we will also have our usual array of lawn games like Cornhole, Jenga and Giant Connect 4, plus all 20+ craft beer taps will be flowing inside and outside with all of Friday night's college football games on our six big screen TVs! And don't forget, we also have a big selection of wine and homemade sangria - frozen or on the rocks! So we hope you will make plans to join us Friday night for the first ever - and the first of many - EastTown GetDown on the Feather Oaks Farm!
